Mongolia is a landlocked country in Central Asia. It’s the second largest in terms of territory and has one of the lowest population densities on earth, with just over 3 million people occupying an area twice as large as Texas. Mongolia was once part of China and shares much more than a border with its former imperial master; it also has many elements that are deeply rooted in Chinese culture such as Mongolian script, which is written using traditional Chinese characters.
The landscape of Mongolia is one that will never be replicated. With its harsh climate and sparse population, the country has been called “the land of blue sky” by locals due to the event horizon-like skies found there.

The country itself is home to over three million square kilometers with a population of just over 3 million people. However, they are all in search of their own peace and beauty through these majestic landscapes. These photos show some of the most beautiful places in Mongolia so you can experience it too!
The rich culture of Mongolia
A culture could be defined as the sum of its people’s traditions, beliefs, art and sciences. And when it comes to Mongolia, this is definitely true. With a rich history that dates back centuries and an area that covers nearly one-sixth of the Earth’s land surface, there are many different aspects to Mongolia’s culture.
Mongolian art is very unique in comparison with other Asian cultures but still has some similarities such as use of color and shape. In addition Mongolians have a very specific way they wear their traditional clothing which can often identify where someone lives or what tribe they belong to based on the colors used and patterns found in the fabric design.
The beautiful landscapes and wildlife in the country
The country is a beautiful place with the most amazing scenery and wildlife. With so much to see, you’ll never want to leave! The country has an incredible landscape that changes from dry desert landscapes in the south to lush forested mountains in the north. The animals are also some of the most unique creatures on earth, such as red pandas, snow leopards, bison and bears! There is something for everyone here- whether it’s hiking in nature or enjoying great food at one of our many cafes and restaurants.
How photography can be a way to document these aspects of Mongolia
I recently had the opportunity to go on a 27 day expedition through Mongolia. Along with my two friends, we traveled from the capital of Ulaanbaatar all the way down to China and back. We visited many different places along our journey that showcased Mongolian culture and history, as well as some amazing landscapes. Being able to take pictures has allowed me to document these aspects of Mongolia in my own way so I can share them with others who may not have been lucky enough to visit this country themselves.
The growth of tourism in Mongolia as more people are visiting
The growth of tourism in Mongolia has risen as more people are visiting the country. The number of tourists to Mongolia was at a record high this year, and is expected to continue growing. This makes it important for any Mongolian business looking to attract travelers from abroad to have an English website available for international customers.
